Medicare

Your Medicare Coverage Specialists

The most complicated insurance you’ll ever have starts when you become eligible for Medicare.
Not only is Medicare complicated, it was never designed to cover everything.
On average a retiree will spend over $280,000 on premiums, copays, and co-insurance and this doesn’t include any expenses for long-term care. Making the right decision is the first step to make sure your healthcare is taken care of throughout your retirement.

The number of options you have regarding your Medicare coverage can be overwhelming, to say the least. Your mailbox and inbox are full of information from insurance companies about the various plans available.
Your friends and neighbors are also ready to give their opinion about what you should do. All of this adds to the confusion. This is exactly where we can help. The i2 Agency is not tied to any one company or even any one type of plan.
We realize that your health insurance decision is personal to you.
We can make sure that all your doctors and prescription drugs are covered in a way that not only fits your budget but also gives you peace of mind. In other words, we do the shopping for you.

Who is eligible?

Generally, Medicare is available for people age 65 or older, younger people with disabilities and people with End Stage Renal Disease (permanent kidney failure requiring dialysis or transplant). Medicare has two parts, Part A (Hospital Insurance) and Part B (Insurance). You are eligible for premium-free Part A if you are age 65 or older and you or your spouse worked and paid taxes for at least 10 years.

How do you receive your Medicare benefits when you meet eligibility requirements at age 65?

If you meet Medicare eligibility requirements and you have received Social Security benefits for at least four months prior to turning age 65, you will typically get Part A and Part B automatically the first day of the month you turn age 65.

If you’re not enrolled in Original Medicare (Part A and Part B) automatically, you may need to file an application with the Social Security Administration.
You can enroll in Part A and Part B during the period that begins three months before your 65th birthday month, includes your birthday month and ends three months after your birthday month.
